Anjuli Olivia

She's my new plant. Passiflora also known as passion flower, the blue bahama variety. Her name is a blend of the main character in a good friend's musical tale and my much loved friend Erin Olivia Davidson also known as Dilly Dilly, who is heading west on Monday to make Los Angeles home.

That she happens to be a passion flower is cool too. Passion flower is a medicinal plant used to treat nervousness and insomnia and is associated with my sun sign, Leo, along with other vines.

Here's to new growth and climbing the trellis toward the stars!

95X Rock Goddess

On Wednesday, February 24th, I take over mid-days in Syracuse, New York,  the city Central New York Real Time News says may "need an injection of intrigue". Hmmm.
If it Rocks It's on 95X.
As the Rock Goddess of 95X I will shorten the name to just "Ivy"

Poster of a Girl

Friday afternoon. Driving over the bridge. ZZZZZ text. And I'm rushing to get there and too full of energy and if I smoked cigarettes I would have been. Red light. Reply. It's Robbie. He's in town early since he's shooting one of the bands that night. Do I want him to come shoot Sick Puppies in Studio Y? Yeah, as long as it's cool with the boss, ya know.  The answer is yes.  I am buzzing and bubbling like a shaken bottle before the celebration.  So we did an impromptu photo shoot-where but the old abandoned studio. We threw stuff around to make room on the counters, grabbed a stringless autographed (but forgotten?) guitar, and voila!

Things I recently learned

Claudio Sanchez obsesses about fish sticks.  http://www.kill-audio.com/

Saosin all got matching tattoos that say "MEN" when we parted ways last time they were in town. Somewhere in Portland. Anyone know which shop? (good thing I left or I might have one too!)

Melissa Auf Der Maur (Hole, Smashing Pumpkins) was in Portland recently to master her 2nd solo cd at Gateway with Adam Ayan. She looked for her Key to the City before the trip but couldn't locate it in time.

Flaming Lips are really playing in Maine this summer! Nateva Festival Site

As Tall As Lions probably played a part in Coheed and Cambria booking their March 28th show at Port City Music Hall. ATAL played there with Minus the Bear and are coming back with Cage the Elephant on March 6th.

Kurt Baker of The Leftovers and now of The Desires and The Goodnight Process will be recording his first solo album at the end of this month in Los Angeles. It's bound to feature a special guest or two.

AC/DCs Biggest Fan!

I haven't seen my friend Kurt Squiers in a long while and this is why! Once featured on VH1 many years ago as AC/DC's biggest fan, Kurt has been traveling the world documenting AC/DC's journey and compiling footage for a rock documentary on the band he breathes, eats and dreams. Kurt has not gotten the official go ahead to release this film yet and it's still in the works, but look at this! Kurt live from London's Classic Rock Awards, on stage as AC/ DC view a preview of his film Beyond the Thunder!!! This looks fake, but it's absolutely real and true. After the clip you see here, Jimmy Page (Jimmy Page!) told Kurt he can't wait to see the full documentary!  Kurt Squiers, living his dream! Amazing.
