Songs for the Sun Salutation

It's been a while since I've had the time and energy to blog. One reason is because I've been doing lots of readings lately and that's good! With all the shifts in the earth and universe, we're in a time period like none of us have ever lived through, I believe! Everyone's biggest struggles are coming up for resolution in the here and now.  Also, many people are finding their place of balance and acting as healers and teachers, and some of us are doing al of the above! Hence, all the readings providing additional light and insight and affirmations or even warnings about the journey. Informed is empowered!

My yoga community in and out of teacher training (with Jacqui Bonwell and Sacred Seeds Yoga School) is absolutely awesome. Namaste.

In spite of my struggle to learn and rehearse and solidify teaching the salutations (that I know so well in practice, oddly enough), there are songs and meditations I associate with them that I want to send out to you!

Mountain Sound

Mountain is strength. Firm resolve. I dreamed of a mountain of rock recently. It was like a tidal wave of rock, so it wasn't moving toward me yet it was looming. A mountain can be tough to overcome, but you have a to take those few steps up it or get a copter to sail  you over. The mountain is a beautiful place to be though. Think of Capricorn, the mountain goat who persists on the climb, the sign of great ambition and eventual success.

Sweep Up Your Arms for Sun Salutation

The Sun. It gets cold, it rains, it's gray, maybe dismal, but that Sun is always there behind those clouds waiting to come back. Warm us and bring light. It's there. While you're being patient, a few Sun salutations warms those bones and get the blood flowing.

" Today you got to live like you wanna, let yesterday go and throw it in a fire, in a fire a fire and live like a warrior!" Matisyahu says it all and we move into our Warrior One.
I was right in front of him for this performance last summer so I chose this version. I sing it in my head during warrior pose, often
