RoZoYo® for the Solstice & Announcing Restorative Yoga with Reiki Healing January 31st

The layers of yesterday's Solstice Yoga event at Scarborough Yoga.

Energies and mythology:
From the North, Air, wind and Rhiannon the Celtic Mare Goddess who fulfills wishes on the Eve of the Solstice when her power is greatest (we faced north in the physical practice)
From the East, Water, ocean, sunlight and Mithra, God of the Sun and Saturn, astrological ruler of the bones and the sign Capricorn
From the South, Fire, warmth, and Yemaya, Goddess of Winter, a nourisher and creation goddess
From the West, Earth, Mountains, and Poli'Ahu, Hawaiian Goddess of the Solstice

Sequence included strength building, weight bearing postures, hugging muscle to bone, wrapping muscles around the joints to encourage bone strength and growth.

Half Moon Stretch, Utkatasana, Deep belly to thigh Forward Fold, Downward Dog
High Plank, Side Planks with Knee Down, Leg Lifts with belly down, Salambasana, Upward Dog
Surya Namaskar A including Side Planks stacking feet, full weight bearing
Fallen Triangles alt with rest and stimulation of Shen energy points (ears) and shoulder stretches
Balancing series: Standing Pigeon, Vrksasana (Tree), Holding Knee to Ribs, Standing Forehead to knee with leg extended
Bridge, Fish, Third Eye & Top of Head energy points (pineal, pituitary glands)

This RoZoYo® sequence is designed especially for this Solstice, welcoming the Sun to Capricorn for bone and joint health.

Sunday, January 31st, join us for a very special, healing and restorative yoga event as Amy Gerow, Reiki healer, esthetician and intuitive offers hands on healing while I guide restorative yoga and meditation. 
All postures will be restorative in the classic sense, supported by props and held for minutes at a time. Aromatherapy is optional including three choices of essential oil for muscle and nerve health, female hormone balance, or cheering and lightening. You'll wear a patch so the scents will not be intrusive for the rest of the room. 
Sound healing includes bowls and tuning forks that resonate to the tissues, organs and bones of the body with vibration. This is a very special event requiring pre-registration and capped at 20 participants.
2 hours of self care and relaxation.
